شرح: The Online Medical Assistant (OMA) is a dynamic collaborative web-based medical decisionsupport expert system in which medical self-diagnosis expert systems are integrated inside as medical engines which respectively focus on different medical domains, and the portal of the system plays the role of a coordinator which merges the web pages, medical engines and all kinds of application programming interfaces (API) into one web-based system. The Development of such kind of web-based medical decision-support expert system is not intended to replace the role of physicians in the diagnostic inference process, but to be a decision-support assistant for the physicians and medical experts in the procedures of diagnostic reasoning

شرح: This is a book for people who build and program LEGO robots with the Robotics Invention System (RIS) set. This book is the answer to the question, "How can I push this thing as far as it will go?" Once you've built a few robots and written a few programs, you'll probably be itching for more: more complex robots, more powerful programming environments, more sensors, and more fun. This book will take you there

شرح: These notes were first written for the students of an experimental class at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the LEGO Robot Design Competition. They were compiled into the current book form and distributed to the students of the 1992 class. This second version of the Robot Builder'sGuide contains some minor corrections and reorganization from the first edition, intended to make the work more suitable for perusal by both robotic enthusiasts and teachers interested in robot design as an educational activity

شرح: There are many interesting and fun things to do in electronics, and one of the most enjoyable is building robots. Not only do you em- ploy electronic circuits and systems, but they must be merged with other technologies. Building a robot from scratch involves the following: Power supply systems,Motors and gears for drive and motion control, Sensors,Artificial intelligence

شرح: This book provides information on the stages of machinery design for automated manufacturing and offers a step-by-step process for making it optimal. This is illus- trated by numerous examples of technical concepts taken from different manufac- turing domains. The author, being a university teacher, sees that teaching curricula and textbooks most often do not provide the answers to the questions: How are things built? How do they work? How does one best approach the design process for a spe- cific machine? Most textbooks emphasize computation theories and techniques and deal less with the physical objects that the theories describe

شرح: Building real robots is hard. Robots are complex systems which rely on software, hardware and mechanical systems all working together. If you build everything yourself, all types of complex interactions occur, which you usually can't anticipate. If you buy things off-the-shelf, they may not be compatible or well suited to a robotics application

شرح: We have developed a system which mediates between an unmodified reactive mobile robot architecture and human natural languageI/O.We introduce reactiveodometric plans and demonstrate their use in plan execution, plan recognition, and learning to associate human terms with perceptually unremarkable locations in the environment. The communication component of our architecture supports type written natural language discourse with people. It lets users name places either immediately or in relation to other known places, ask questions about the robot’s plans and the spatial relationships of known places, and give the robot short and long term goals. This thesis presents results obtained with our implementation of this architecture on a physical mobile robot system designed by Connell,1992a and in simulation. These results reflect experimentsper formed by the author and by other users

شرح: Being a computer science or electrical engineering student, you have probably assembled a PC. You have gone out to purchase the motherboard, CPU, memory, disk drive, video card, sound card and other necessary parts. You have assembled them together, and have made yourself a state-of-the-art working computer. But have you ever wonder how the circuits inside those IC (integrated circuit) chips are designed? You know how the PC works at the system level by installing the operating system and seeing your machine comes to life. But have you thought about how your PC works at the circuit level? How is the memory designed or how is the CPU circuit designed

شرح: 17rpm for the seconds hand means that the hour hand goes round in 3.5 minutes. Take a wheel with a diameter of a little more than 2 inches, mount it on the shaft and the robot will have a speed of about 2 inches per minute. I know, it's a snail's pace, but you can definitely see it move. And oscillator and motor together use less than 1 mA at 2 volts! Moreover, the large reduction (the stepping motor itself runs at 500 rpm) makes for perseverance. The Photovore below is equipped with two clocks and has no trouble with a 20 degree incline - running continuously, under a heavy overcast, with the sun as its only source of power. The robot weighs 104 grams

شرح: The idea for this project was born from an unfinished website which had some important details missing. In essence the idea of converting a floppy disk drive into a small vehicle which could be made by someone just starting out in robotics, or even a kids summer camp, is easy enough to do once the practicalities of switching on the motor without having it connected to a PC is worked out

شرح: The robots in this book were designed to imitate biological life- forms. Watching the snake robot moving through a room, it is interesting to observe the surprised reactions of people when it quickly turns towards them. People actually regard the robot as being alive. I am struck with the thought that although these machines are not alive in our biological sense, they actually are alive, but as life-forms unto themselves. These artificially intelli- gent machines are the products of human imagination and techni- cal understanding. As the technology advances, the line between living and non-living matter is slowly becoming blurred

As interest in robots grew, a number of books showing how to build robots at home began to appear. These books, however, were very technical, showing how to build computer-controlled mobile platforms that are consid- ered by most to be true robots

شرح: Omni -directional drive is the ability to move in any direction (0 to 360 degrees) at any given orientation. Using this type of drive system enables a robot to move in a given direction while being able to rotate during linear travel. Time is saved by eliminating the need to rotate the robot before translating from point A to point B. Omni-directional drive gives the goalie robot the ability to always face the ball while being able to move in any direction. In addition, it provides simpler inverse k inematics solution for path planning. For these reasons, many research groups are studying omni-directional (holonomic) mobile robots and vehicles [1-5]. The Ohio University (OU) RoboCup Team incorporates the omni-directional drive into their mobile robots. The OU RoboCup Team consists of 4 players and 1 goalie; the players and goalie each have separate mechanical, electrical, and software design in order to meet different performance specifications. For example, the players are designed to optimize forward motion, while the goalie is designed to optimize side-to-side motion. This paper will focus on the mechanical design, dynamic modeling, and simulation of the redundant, omni-directional RoboCup goalie.
